Recently a two-time HCC University graduate and great Hickory Chair friend, Jennifer Parker, shared with us some professional photography that captured her skillful ability to create beautiful rooms. Jennifer is an interior designer and the owner of Patera Home that is located in northern Virginia. Home & Design magazine agreed with us and published some of her completed projects in their magazine in an article entitled "Our Favorite Rooms". These beautiful rooms were photographed by Angie Seckinger and were provided by Jennifer Parker.
Home & Design magazine featured Jennifer in their 2010 Sourcebook on pages 14-15. We feel very honored that Jennifer made the decision to select so many Hickory Chair pieces for these rooms. Our talented artisans enjoyed making these pieces to order with all of the specifications that Jennifer specified.
In this first room, Jennifer selected the Olivier Sofa, Angus Pedestal Table and Alex Cocktail Ottoman with Alex Tray from the Alexa Hampton. The Marlborough Wing Chair is from the historic James River Collection (that has been continuously made since 1941) and the Audrey Chair from the Mariette Himes Gomez Collection. Not shown in the photograph are a pair of Charles Hassocks to provide additonal seating as well as architectural interest to the room. She mixed both rich wood tone stains on the upholstered pieces with a two-tone finish (Oxford stained finish on the top with a painted Weathered Cream base) on the Angus Pedestal Table. She selected a palette of soft blues and golds to create a warm, inviting and relaxing sitting area.
The adjacent room is the dining area. For this room she carried forth the same color scheme. The Kimball Dining Table and Morgan Server from the Thomas O'Brien Collection were selected along with the Boston Arm and Side Chairs from the Albert Sack Collection. The resulting effect is traditional but yet very fresh and modern. Traditional with a twist one might say!
We really appreciate Jennifer selecting so many pieces for these beautiful rooms. We enjoyed seeing the pictures, sharing them with the talented artisans that make them and sharing them with you.
