She received the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) and has 20 years experience in the interior design field. Elizabeth holds a BFA from James Madison University in Art History and Graphic Design and a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in Interior Design. She is known for creating luxury.
Designers Market is a to the trade interior design showroom in Richmond, Virginia that we collaborate with to support talented designers like Elizabeth. The owners, Cooley Parks and Julie Bode invited Elizabeth to join them as they attended HCC University in March 2013. We appreciate all that Cooley and Julie do to help Hickory Chair be accessible to interior designers and architects in central Virginia.
After Elizabeth's return home from HCC University she shared with us some photography that featured Hickory Chair pieces. We thought you would enjoy seeing how she mixed our hand made Hickory Chair pieces with antiques. In this oppulent living room she chose the Cloverleaf Ottoman for a cocktail table. She added a braided welt cord, bullion fringe and asked that we apply spaced nail head fringe to its flange. The Cloverleaf Ottoman is standard with casters so that it is easliy repositioned in the room. She selected a beautiful textured COM fabric, braided welt and bullion fringe for the Cloverleaf Ottoman.
The Ansley Chair shown below is from the Suzanne Kasler Collection. Our craftsmen were able to reproduce the original antique that Suzanne purchased at a French Flea Market in Paris. The beautiful floral with blue background brocade COM fabric is complemented by the COM ribbon trim. Elizabeth specified that we space the nail head trim every third nail and that we apply the optional Antique French finish to the hand carved mahogany frame.
In this next image a vintage Hickory Chair Knole M2M Sofa was upholstered in a beautiful lavender COM velvet. Event though the style is retired, Elizabeth has an heirloom quality item that can be reupholstered in the future due to its solid hardwood frame, commercial grade construction and custom engineered seating. One pair of contrasting throw pillows feature 'picture frame' application of a tape trim.
The elegant Boudoir Chair by Mariette Himes Gomez was selected for this next room. An optional kick pleat skirt was added to make the chair more formal. The COM fabric was complemented by the braided welt cord. Elizabeth added two bolsters in COM fabric to accentuate the chair.
We appreciate Elizabeth sharing these beautiful rooms. We enjoy seeing pictures of rooms that include special pieces that we have made. We see them as they are being made in our workroom but nothing compares to seeing them in a home. We hope you will take a moment and share pictures of your Hickory Chair pieces with us. Simply mail them to press@hickorychair.com and we will share them on Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter or on Made By Hickory Chair! Just click on the links below to enjoy our various social media sites!
